Wangaree Homestead, (circa 1885) a traditional Australian Queenslander nestles on 35 acres of private property just outside Murwillumbah on the Tweed Coast, Northern NSW, Australia. Built originally on the Brisbane River on a portion of land the subject of a 1450 land grant to the notable grazier come land developer Louis Hope later to become Lord Louis Hope, seventh Earl of Hopetoun who went on to become the first Governor General of Australia. After a long history at Normans Creek in Brisbane of almost a century, the Queenslander was resited in the Tweed in 1982. The history of the generations of families who who resided in the house is held at the homestead.
